JOHANNESBURG – Last month’s cold weather conditions — especially that unprecedented snow — saw Eskom use more diesel to keep the lights on. 
But the power utility says it’s still a lot less compared to what it spent in the same period last year.

Eskom is celebrating over 190 days without rolling power cuts. 
The power utility attributes this to a Recovery Plan, with the energy availability factor averaging 63 percent. 
Spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says they’ve saved over R11-billion.
